WELCOME TO COASTFISH2004

We propose the first coastfish2004 conference as a forum to initiate discussions among individuals from different disciplines, institutions and organizations about the challenges associated with development and management of coastal fisheries in Latin America and the Caribbean (LA&C). It is expected to facilitate exchange and discussions regarding assessment methods and management approaches, as well as to improve knowledge about coastal fisheries in the region by sharing information and experiences on the subjects. We aim to identify the gaps in terms of stock assessment and management so that we can define appropriate ways to increase and integrate understanding of these fisheries.

We hope you can join us to share the experience of what promises to be an interesting and a challenging event, and give us the opportunity to welcome you in Merida.
